The “Rockstar” Study Routine: How to Make CAT Prep Feel Less Boring

It is quite normal to feel bored or disinterested when studying for the CAT (Common Admission Test) because of all the pressure and long hours related to exam preparations. These concepts may help you manage your emotions and provide insight into some of these experiences.

Tips for preparing for CAT in an enjoyable way:

Be Process-Oriented Rather Than Outcome-Oriented:Make the learning process your focus and do not let the pressure overpower you.

Encourage Your Well-Being:You must seek sufficient sleep, and maintain a workout schedule for energy and focus.

Leave Room for Hobbies and Interests:Don't let CAT preparation take over your entire life. Schedule activities that revitalize and motivate you.

Find a Partner or Join a Group:Interacting with other CAT aspirants gives you the support, encouragement, and opportunity to learn together.

Challenge Yourself:Don't try to do everything in one shot. Chunk your preparation into smaller, achievable steps and reward yourself thereafter.

Help Is Available When You Ask:Ask a teacher, mentor, or fellow student for help if you are having trouble understanding something.

Take Time out to Rest and Recharge:Take regular breaks to prevent burnout and give your mind time to rest and recharge.

Remember Your Why:Staying focused on your goal of earning an MBA will help you move forward when you are feeling stuck.

No Comparison:Each person learns at their own pace. Focus on yourself and celebrate your achievements.

Be Flexible with Your Plans:Preparing for the CAT is difficult, so be ready to adjust your strategy.

Practice:You will become more confident and comfortable with every practice you take.

Go to CAT study groups:Getting onto groups on these platforms like Facebook or WhatsApp can work well in connecting with other aspirants who also need that support and motivation during preparation.

Do Not Quit Your Job (Unless You Have to):If you work, try to combine your preparation for the CAT with the job instead of quitting unless this is necessary.

Should I stop using Instagram, Snapchat, TV shows, and movies to prepare for CAT 2025?

The answer to this is a big NO.

It is just not worth it. Quitting any activity that gives you pleasure is a bad idea, specially for an exam like CAT. It takes around 300 to 500 hours for preparation. So, even if you can find 2–3 hours a day on the weekdays and a little bit more on the weekend, that is good enough. It is not necessary to overburden yourself.

Use social media but mindfully. If you have to, you should give up anything that has a bad influence.
